UNBELIEVABLE!! SEE WHY WEMA BANK CLOSED OLD BRANCH & REOPENS IT AFTER 5 YEARS

Whatsup?

Hmmm, have you thought of this too; why would a bank close a branch and reopen it after 5 years?!?

What must have gone wrong with the board of directors? What was their thoughts in the first place? Why do they have to reopen the branch after 5-good-years!? These and many more are possible questions you would ask yourself, right? Oh, I asked the same questions too!

Anyway, Wema Bank Plc, Nigeria’s longest surviving indigenous bank has continued its expansion plan with the reopening of its closed branch in Minna, Niger State.

According to Mr Adeyemi Oshundiya, the Regional Operations Executive of Wema Bank (South West & Abuja), “After Mr Segun Oloketuyi took over the management of Wema Bank in 2009, the first phase of his turnaround strategy was to scale down operations to the South West and South South regions. Minna branch was shut down as a result of this.”

Mr Oshundiya emphasizes that Wema Bank will only expand to places where there are compelling business opportunities. In its 2016 half year financials, Wema bank reported an 11% rise in profit and a 15% rise in turnover while operating expenses only grew by 2.7%.

In a bid to continue their strategic physical expansion, they will also be playing a lot more in the digital space. Wema bank’s growing E-banking platform includes a revamped, feature-loaded and constantly updated mobile banking application, innovative SMS and USSD Banking products (*945#) which do not require token, mobile data or internet connection to complete transactions and an internet banking platform which gives users real-time access to their account from any internet-enabled computer or device.

Now, to the good news 😀 ….

New and existing customers can now visit the Wema Bank branch located at 35 Bosso Road, Minna, Niger State. Tell a friend to tell another friend that resides in Minna to drop in at the newly opened Wema Bank branch to make transactions the fastest & easiest way!

Thanks for stopping by to read this scoop. Catch you later. You rock! 😉
